Fourth of July and So Long!

I love me some 4th of July fun. We made the trek to Gunnison, of course, which was super fun except the parade seemed to lack the flare it used to have (get back on track Gunny). Still a great time and we loved being with the fam.

( I especially like this picture. It was the only one that worked out of all the fire work pics I took this year. I just couldn't get the settings on my camera right, but I nailed it with this one!)

Ten days or so after the 4th we said "Goodbye Utah, Alabama or bust." We had treats at my mother-in-laws house the Sunday before we left. Everyone came to say farewell. I am really glad everyone kindof left at different times because it made it a lot easier and I didn't end up crying!!!
This lovely pic is of Cait's best besties ever! We miss them soooo much. These four were getting very tight and I hope it stays that way when we go home to visit.

Now these clowns are....well, clowns! This bunch of boys + Cora are rowdy and fun and too much in large doses. But we love them and miss them a lot. Can't wait to get back there and give Gus a great big kiss (just cause I know he hates it. Yes, I am that aunt!)

Now this beauty is what we will call home for the next long period of time. It's beautiful, I love it, I can't wait to move into it, TOMORROW!

Dawson Turned 8!

I can't believe I was such a slacker and didn't post about this huge even in Buddy's life. He's 8! WTH!
Of course he started the day with Daddy's great birthday breakfast. If you can't tell it's a very large bowl of cinnamon toast crunch with a marine fighter boat floating in it! My hubby is so creative sometimes!
We had a very fun Fiesta birthday party with cousins and friends. If you remember Cait's 8th birthday party we did a Luau so Dawson wanted a cultural party too. So Fiesta is what we made happen.

Now on to the best part of turning 8, the baptism day! It was on July 6th. It was such a great day and very emotional for me. I was very touched by Dawson's faith and testimony. He is not affraid to share how he feels when he is feeling the Holy Ghost. I loved it. I am so proud of him!

Park City

So, I am sitting on the phone, waiting and waiting and waiting for the bank to answer and I noticed that there were a whole lot of things happen prior to us coming to Alabama.  I thought I would start with David's birthday trip to Park City.  We had a great time. I found a really nice hotel online for super cheap, we spent a load of money on the ghost tour, went swimming a lot and just all around enjoyed Park City. I must make a confession, I grew up in Utah and 2013 was my first trip to the old part of Park City. I had been to the outlets before but never down town. I actually had no idea there was a different part of the Park City area. Mind Blown!! I loved it!

Mr. Fat Guy!

Holy Toledo! This boy is FAT! I love every squishy inch of him. So sorry I haven't posted his pics. The move has left me a little frazzled. This weekend, however, will finally take us out of the nomad stage and into a permanent home! Halle Freakin' Lujah! So stay tuned for a month or so and I just might get pictures up of the place.
Without further gibber gabber here is the last three months of my fat guys pictures!

(4 Months)

(5 Months)

(6 Months)

I have really struggled the last three months to get a good non blurry picture of the kid. And this month I couldn't get him to hold still at all, too many wiggly parts have been discovered. But I can still see the difference just three months makes in a babes life. He now weighs right around 22 pounds and is almost 30 inches long. He is in full blown 12-18 month clothes. I keep trying to put 9 month outfits on him and they just squeeze him a little too much! Heaven help me he doesn't grow out of 18 month outfits in the next 6 months because then his birthday shirt won't fit.....ha ha ha ha!

Sweet Home Alabama

Boy, oh boy! What a trip! We have now been in Alabama for a little more than a month and truly I have intended to blog all about our trip getting here which was very long but not too painful, And then to write all about our adventures since we arrived. Alas however, the convenience of Facebook and Instagram have won out over blogging. But I feel kind of bad for my mom who does neither of those two social media outlets and so she has yet to see any of our  adventurous pictures.

So, tonight as my whole family snoozes peacefully, I will take a minute to update this beautiful, yet very neglected blog.

We found this ginormous statue of Superman in no other place than Metropolis, Metropolis, Illinois that is.

We found the coolest cave ever! Cathedral caverns and then we ate yummy BBQ at Budday's.

The kids and I explored the Huntsville gardens. They had huge displays of fun kid things, like the chairs, and also checkers, a sprinkler, water can, dog house, sand castle, you know all the cool kids stuff.

This lovely pig head is at the American Pickers store in Nashville.

This very cool aquarium restaurant is also in Nashville. We had fun exploring there and ended our trip at the zoo. Very cute zoo, but really when you have seen one elephant you've seen them all.

We hung out for the day, last Saturday, at the watermelon festival. Super fun and all the watermelon my boys could eat.

We just experienced the first day of school. I felt very protective of the kids as I left them in their classes. I would have stayed all day if I didn't have little Bean with me.

And last but not least of all the pictures, our walk through Old Town Huntsville today. So gorgeous! The top picture is of an old hardware store that is pretty much as it was the day it opened in the 1800's.  The family that now owns it left much of the old stuff out and has just added new merchandise to the shelves! Very cool if you ask me. And then we found this amazing spring and canal system. Crystal clear water with huge coy fish. We were all very tempted to jump in, it was very hot today.
So, in a nut shell this has been our journey. We have seen a few other things like the whimsical woods at Buritt on the Mountain and we have done our fair share of swimming at the pool. We are having a great time and are really loving Alabama.
Night ya'll!
