I didn't realize that my last post was clear back on the 8th. Sorry so boring around here lately. All the things that come with this time of year has happened in our house. C got strep, D made fun of her for getting strep, and B is just B. (I hope their initials don't confuse anyone, I just decided one day to start using them). We made cookies, we snuggled down to watch TV cuz who wants to move around when it's cold? We have done some Christmas shopping, and I am about to start making homemade, from scratch, with real pumpkin, Pumpkin Pies and Apple pie from apples off our tree. I am really excited, because I love pumpkin pie and I really love homemade, fresh pumpkin. It's the best!
Oh and I also made some really cute hair clips with C on Sunday. I will take a pic and show you. I love them. C had fun cause I just let her do what she wanted and I had fun because I didn't have to think of anything else for a couple of hours. Too bad because of my craftiness we ended up with a really lame, really horrible Sunday dinner. Oh well, it's rare that I have had just a down right horrible dinner.
And today we have just gotten ready for the 30 year storm to come rolling through. We brought in fire wood, took all the outside toys and put them in the garage. Moved above said pumpkins into the shed, and brought out the blankets, candles and flashlights just in case. I am actually hoping that it is so severe that the kids get to stay home from school. I have never once had a snow day from school and I think it is about time to have one.
So here is to a super short update post, and I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!

Oh the Leaves
I love fall! The colors, the temperatures, the smells, the treats, EVERYTHING! Well this fall has been a little slow. The leaves changed later and have just started to really fall off our maple. Sad thing is, the wet weather started today. But, I being the plan ahead mom that I am, made sure the kids played in the leaves yesterday.

I tried to take a cute picture of them in their Sunday clothes, but they wouldn't look at me and all they wanted to do was throw the leaves in the air, so that's what I took a picture of.
Then they all changed their clothes and went back out to rake the leaves into a big pile and jump in. They had so much fun and we all laughed a lot. So Fun!!!!

I had some fun on Picnik this morning. I am not sure I love the edits but it was still fun.
Veterans Day Assembly
Last Thursday the kids school had a Veterans Day assembly that the kids were encouraged to invite anyone they knew that was a Veteran. My grandpa served in the Korean War as part of the Navy. I was excited but also nervous to invite him. He has Alzheimer's and I was worried he would get anxious or all of a sudden get confused about where he was. But all went well and he was like a kid in a candy store. They had the Vet's walk out in a precession as the audience stood and clapped. He just lit up. He is very proud of the time he served and is not shy about it. He was great during the assembly and stood and sang the Navy song with the fourth graders. And as he was walking out in the precession he saw Caitlin and stopped to shake her hand, which started the rest of her class wanting to shake all the Vet's that came behind him. It was so cute and he was so happy. He even told Dave on the way home that the day had been a "Good Day." Which is rare in its self because he is usually very nervous when he is away from home. I am sure glad he had a good day. I love my grandparents.

Halloween Eve??
If Halloween is technically All Hallows Eve, how do you have a Halloween Eve? It just doesn't make sense to me? Anyway......, being that Halloween was on Sunday this year we celebrated on Saturday. We first had Activity Days Daddy Daughter to get ready for. Cait has been joining me for AD for the last couple of weeks so we let Daddy come to this party too. It was a lot of work and that morning was stressful. But it is over and it turned out just fine.
The kids and I then went up to Grandma's house. Daddy had homework and was going to sleep so it was a good time to go visit. When we left it was pouring in Tooele and not in Centerville so we decided to Trick or Treat up there. Well by the time we actually went it was pouring in Centerville. Aunt Heather was kind and picked up some umbrella's for the kids so it wasn't horrible, but we had maybe gone to six house and Cora had enough so we went back to grandma's. I was soaked, Cora was soaked and I knew when I left the kids that Cait's dress was soaked and so was Dawson. I was not about to make them ride home in soaked costumes so I made a trip to Target. Life saver, cause Cait stayed out for 2 hours in the rain and was very cold when she was done.
The sad thing about going TorT on Saturday, Sunday was perfect! Oh well?

Jazz Game
Thursday we were able to go to the Opening Night of the Utah Jazz. We only had 4 tickets so it was, David, Cait, Daws and I. Cora enjoyed herself plenty at Grandma's house and didn't even miss us. Sadly the Jazz lost, but it was tons of fun and the kids loved it. It was a late night however and by the end of the third quarter Cait had had enough. Luckily they were loosing so it wasn't so hard to leave.
Look it's me! I finally made it onto my own blog. It's a miracle.
