WHAT????

I read this on a friends Blog and I have to pass it on. I can't believe this is even in question. Children have been raised by their parents for centuries and so what is wrong with parents raising their children now. GOOD GRIEF! I am flabbergasted. Please read the article and others like it, lets do something about this. read it here

A Beautiful Saturday

So first I need to thank my sis in law for having her baby Thursday. I was supposed to be at a girls night out this weekend, but because of the blessed event it was cancelled which meant that I could go to RS this morning. It was beautiful. Chad (Chad was injured in a farm accident and is now a quadriplegic) and Shawndell Hymas spoke (for those of you that weren't there) and it was so touching and the spirit was enormous. When I got home I balled like a baby. I was really touched and realized that sometimes (okay most times) I take my little family for granted and that I need to stop it. Thank you RS for having that wonderful meeting.

And to continue the wonderful day. I painted rocks with my kids, had a picnic with my family, watched the kids have fun in the sun.

Took a beautiful nap, re planned the girls night out, and went to the ward party, listened to Dawson tell David amazing things about Transformers, and was blessed with lots of hugs and kisses today by my wonderful family. All in all I don't think there was a bad spot in the whole day. I love days like this.

This lovely pic is hilarious. Cora was sticking her fingers under the door at bedtime and David thought it was cute so he was playing with her, then decided to see if the camera would take a pic under the door. Then he asked if it was blog worthy? I think it is so here you go.
And just a side note, I love the faith of my Cait. She struggles with bad dreams, always has and lately it has been about volcano's erupting and killing everyone. So the other night I found a picture of Christ and stuck it to her ceiling (she's on the top bunk) so when she got scared she could look at that and know that Heavenly Father and Jesus were always with her and would keep her safe. Well tonight I checked on her and she had moved it to the railing on her bed so that it was closer and she could she it better ( I assume she was asleep when I checked) but she was facing it. She has more faith in her little pinkie then anyone else I know.

AAAARRRGGGGH!

I think I am quitting. I am quitting anything and everything to do with shopping for my kids. I had a breakdown over Easter, I always freak out about Christmas, and now I am freaking out about Cait's birthday. How hard can it be really? I already have one present (thanks Liz) and I know what I am getting for the second present. Only problem is I can't get the one that I really want. She is getting a bike for her b-day. There is only one in her size at Walmart (don't really like it), and it has taken me three days of searching on the web to find three more in her size. And the store that I finally found them at I checked the first and second day and so why they showed up today I have no clue. I was happy to find them, only problem the one that I want is out of stock at every store in Utah and is out of stock online. WHY????? I keep checking back hoping that it will be in stock since I checked 3 hours ago, but no luck. Her birthday is in 15 days!!! I am a planner, if I don't have this bike by no later than next Thursday, I really will go insane. AAAAh! What is a mom to do?

I love spring break

What a week. Not a dull day in the bunch. Here's a quick little rundown:
Monday: Lunch with daddy, library, hanging out at Grandma's, dinner and Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma's.

Tuesday: Play day at Bug's, lazy day watching movies and playing.

Wednesday: Laziest day of the week. All we had was the dentist that afternoon and it only took 20 minutes so that was super nice and no cavities.

Thursday: Discovery Gateway with my best est friends and their furling. Crazy busy, three school groups and tons of other kids. Very tiring. Lunch, shopping, home, colored Easter Eggs. Cora loved it. Everytime we would pull an egg out of a cup she was scream with delight. It was so cute.

Friday: Video games, laundry, and trip to other Grandma's. Camp fire at Uncle Ken's, complete with Smores, and a sleepless night.

Saturday: Lazy morning, then Easter Party at Uncle Ken's and Aunt Wendy's and long drive home. The 6'5" Easter Bunny is Uncle Ken.

Sunday: Easter Baskets at 7 then a mad dash to get everyone all prettied for church, church, nap (due to another sleepless night), playtime and dinner. And Cora climbed the ladder to the roof of the garage before anyone noticed she was already on the roof. She is fearless.
I love dressing my kids up for Easter. My Aunt Lorie crocheted Caitlin's dress. Love it she looked so pretty.
Phew! Busy week, but we loved it.

Trip down memory lane, we had to drive through Ephraim on our way home yesterday and decided to show the kids Snow College, where Dave and I first met. And for a long time I have wanted to stop and see if my mark was still in the side walk. Sure enough. It was raining which made it hard to see, but I took a pic anyway and then traced my name on photo shop so you wouldn't think I was crazy. I even had a nice college guy stop and ask if I was okay while I was taking the picture. I think he thought I was hot and wanted a chance to hit on me. (I know I think so much of myself). Oh the days at Snow, they were great and I loved it.

Goals for an almost 6 year old

We went to see Alisha's puppies on Friday. Bad Idea! Cait was non stop talk of wanting a puppy. We already have a dog. An obnoxious beagle that was raised in my husbands lab, doped on fentayl for two years. We love her, but we often forget that we even have her. So why do we need or even want another dog? But, Cait was so adamant on it that David made her a deal: If she could keep a little patch of a garden tended (ie; watered, weeded) then she could have a puppy. WHAT? Whatever? I am a little excited about the thought of having a puppy, but I know it will be a novelty and will get old just like Labby. However, Cait was outside in her little patch of garden today pulling weeds and digging furrows for an hour and a half. I guess teaching our already hard working daughter to work even harder isn't such a bad thing.
