Potty Time

Cora will be two next week and I am obsessed with having my kids on their way to the potty by now. I have been a little slow with Cora, but today I got her a prize. The Potty Watch.

She is just trying it today so I will let you know if it works, I had a friend swear by it. Wish us luck that maybe a week from tomorrow she will be trained.

Boston, Maine, New Hampshire

We are back, we had a great time, we are tired and I have posted a few of our 575 pictures. Enjoy!

Day one: We walked the Freedom Trail, Old Boston is pretty much what it was, the Old State House, North Church, stuff like that. These friendly folk were the tour guides.

This is Paul Revere's house at the North End, now part of Little Italy. We had the best pastries in Little Italy, yum yum.

This is the oldest restaurant in the country, Ye Olde Union Oyster House. Oh my gosh the clam chowder was amazing.

Fenway Park was awesome. What a true part of Boston culture, WOW. We lost in the eleventh inning, but it was a great game.

Day Two: Boston Light House. The oldest Light House site in the country. The British destroyed the original one, but it was quickly rebuilt. We took a boat through Boston Harbor to get there and were able to climb to the top, breathtaking.

We also saw the most amazing firework, live right on the shores of the Charles river.

Day Three: We didn't get to bed until 4 a.m. after a little unplanned event, but got up early and drove the three and a half hours to Augusta, Maine. This is where David spent a great deal of time on his mission. This first Family pic is the Leighton family. The youngest boy (the short one in the back) was less than a year old when Dave was there. Crazy. Dave has a picture of two of the boys wrestling when they were little. It was fun to meet them and have lunch with them.

Family number two were the Fletchers. So nice. Their oldest was two when Dave was there. We had a great time catching up with them and seeing their beautiful property.

Day Four: Half the day on the coast of Maine. Gorgeous and wonderful and would love to spend the rest of my life there. Awesome. And of course we had to have lobster from a little dinky shack right on the harbor. Cheap meal, super great atmosphere and dead fish.

The restroom for the shack was an porta-potty and a wash basin with a hose to spray off lobster juice. Eew.

The coast was so beautiful. This spot was called Pemaquid Point. The light house is on the back of the Maine State Quarter.

Day Five: We were up bright and early to see one of the most gorgeous places in the world. The Flume gorge in New Hampshire. If you ever go to New Hampshire, do not miss this spot, it about brought tears to ours eyes at how beautiful it was. WOW.

This is it

In 24 hours I will be on my way to BOSTON!!!! AAAAAH!!! I can't wait. So this will likely be the last time I check on blogs for 7 days. AAAHHH!!! I hope you all have an enjoyable week, I know I will.

One Dawson funny: I was just chillin' and we had just finished lunch and a plate with mustard and ketchup was left on the table, Dawson assumed it was Cora's. He comes running to me. "Mom, I just tried Cora's mustard and -enter long pause- I LOVE MUSTARD! (as loud as he could, with the biggest smile on his face)." I knew he was my kid after all.

After swim lessons today I decided I wanted to do some shopping before we leave for Boston. We hadn't had lunch yet so we made a stop at Jordan Park and the International Peace Gardens. The kids loved it, but I needed a potty ASAP, so we only saw a small part. I promised we would make a return visit. Notice the swim wrap, I made one for each of my girls yesterday after rotating kid rooms around. I felt like super woman yesterday. We then went shopping at the Gateway, but of course the kids had to play in the fountain. They were of course still in their swim suits. As was I and I sat in the sun just a tad too long because my back got burned. It itches like crazy.

Dawson Turned Four.

Like I said, Dawson turned four on Saturday. It makes me just a little bit sad. We were gone until about 4:30 Saturday, so the most we celebrated was opening presents. I feel kindof bad that he got jipped, but he doesn't seem to mind.

We got him a Cyclops action figure. He has been watching X-Men and loves Cyclops. When he opened it he looked at it funny and asked "Whats this?" "It's Cyclops" "Oh Thanks" with that polite drawl. We laughed so hard.

Trek

We had a really great time on Trek. Despite the horrid amounts of rain, the freezing cold temps, and the really heavy hand cart, we wouldn't take the experience back for the world.

We were given really great kids as part of our family. They got along well together, worked very well with each other, and only one drove us up the wall.

I just wanted to share some of the fun pictures that we captured of our adventure. These are not in order, my mouse is acting stupid.

I'm Alive

I made it, 24 miles in the rain and I am still alive. Trek was an amazing experience. But I will write all about it tomorrow. I just wanted to let you know that I am alive.
Plus my little buddy turned 4 yesterday :( My babe is growing up I am not so sure I am too happy about that. But more on that tomorrow too. Check in because you won't want to miss some fun pictures.
