PI Day

I celebrated Pi day this year, probably only because I was in a serious mood for some pie. I invited some friends over, but they ditched me(yeah, you know who you are). So we enjoyed an apple and a pumpkin pie as a family. The pic of the apple pie (which was so delicious) was right after it came out of the oven and I needed to give a couple of pieces to my great neighbors because they gave me a can of evaporated milk so I could make the pumpkin, and I never did take a pic of the pumpkin pie but it was pretty too.

New Adventures.

Today was a day of a few firsts.
I signed myself and my mother and sister-in-law up for Bountiful Baskets. Our cousin told us about it just about two months ago. It is a Co-Op of people that contribute $15 and get a basket full of fruits and vegetables. This week we got: Bananas, Strawberries, Apples, Blueberries, Kiwis, Radishes, two heads of lettuce, a head of cabbage, celery, an acorn squash, cucumbers, and asparagus. I was excited but Dave is like a kid in a candy store. Fresh fruits and veggies and you would think it was the best thing that ever happened to this family. While I was gone he was looking on the Internet for recipes, nutritional value, and showing the kids how the foods we eat other then fruits and veggies are not so good for us. Anyway, it was great and we are excited to get new stuff every week.
And the other first was Sweet Lizzies. I knew there was a new candy store in town but Dave did not and we were killing time while we had people looking at the house, so we went to the candy shop. I could have lost my mind in there. I have a definite sweet tooth. I wanted some of everything. BUT, being that Dave spent half the morning schooling our children on good foods, we opted for one, one pound bag of chocolate toffee. Which is delicious. But don't tell Dave I plan on going back and getting a bunch of Jelly Bellies and letting the kids pick out a few candies of their own.

Fun Week

We had a lot of fun and got very tired from our fun too.
Tuesday we went to the zoo. The perfect day for the zoo! I took Cait out of school early which she was so proud of. There was no one there and the animals were so active. I haven't been that amazed by the animals and my children's reactions as I was Tuesday. It was a great day. And the baby animals were so fun. Why do we grow out of being fun?
Yes that is one of the three baby tigers. They were just born this summer and look how big they already are?
After the zoo we stopped at my Grandparents house. It was my grandma's birthday Monday so we took her a big cupcake. My grandpa has Alzheimer's but he was very cheerful and even knew who I was when I got there. He told great stories of his days in the navy and those Sea Going Bell Hops - marines :). It was great and I am loving all the visits I have made to their house lately.
Thursday we went and hung out with Aunt Heather. Uncle Eric was having a bachelor party and Dave wanted Dawson there so I had to drive up after achievement days. But it was a very nice and relaxing visit.
And Saturday we had weddings all day! My cousin Sara got married at 8:45 a.m. in the Bountiful Temple. And then Eric (Dave's brother) got married at 12:20 p.m. in the Salt Lake Temple. Both were wonderful and I love being reminded of the blessings of the Temple and eternal families. I don't know Sara's new hubby, but Eric's wife Alison is great and we are so happy they found each other. It was a long day and I wore the worst possible shoes so my feet were sore, but it was worth it. Plus I got a really pretty tulip center peice from Alison that I love so it made it even better. Congrats to both the new happy couples.
And today, Cora was playing with some hand-me-down decorations I got from my sis-in-law and got the bucket stuck on her head. Her fat lip makes the pic even better.

Miss Attitude!

Cora was dang funny yesterday, at David's expense but dang she was cracking us up.
First: Remember back to the PEE post, Well Miss Belle sometimes leaks just a little bit before she realizes that she needs to go potty. Well it just happens this time she was sitting on David's lap. He didn't notice until he stood up. This was the conversation.

" Cora did you pee your pants?"

"No."

"Yes you did, look at my pants, they're wet. You peed your pants."

"No I didn't you did."

"No Miss Belle you peed on daddy."

"You peed your pants."

And the battle for who actually did it ensued. David against Cora. It was dang funny because Miss Belle was not backing down that it was David who peed his pants, not her on him. :)

Second: Miss Belle was sleeping around 11 p.m. when she started to cry. David was still up so he went to console her, he came back a minute later and said she wanted me. So I went to get her and brought her in our bed. David didn't know I had and came in with his text book to study. The argument then ensued. Cora kept telling David he couldn't sleep in the bed, and she even grunted and pointed to the door. So much for being a daddy's girl.

Family Journal

There are so many reasons why I love blogging. But last night I discovered the #1 reason I do it, A Family Journal. I have seen a few of my friends blogs printed into a book and I love it. So I found a website yesterday with quite inexpensive prices and I got to work on the first year of my blog. Okay it was only three months worth, but hey that still took up 26 pages. I am so excited to get it, and the big bonus is Dave is totally on board with me doing it. I was up til 1:30 this morning getting it just right. I was completely into it and could have kept going if my girls hadn't woken up with all sorts of ailments (Cora needed a breathing treatment and Cait had a serious bloody nose). So today while I am home from church with sick kids I am going to work on 2008. I can't wait. LOVE IT!!!!! (the pic is the cover of my book)

Not much...

I feel guilty about not posting for 18 days. But really there hasn't been much going on in our house. With the warmer weather the kids have been outside a lot which has given me some free time, which I probably should be using to clean or pack, but I usually take a nap or play on the computer shopping for things I can't buy. I have also been watching the Olympics 24/7 either on TV or the computer. I LOVE the Olympics.
We are looking into purchasing carpet. Our hope is that someone that doesn't like hardwood floors will come through and like the carpet look instead and snatch it right up so we can get on with our lives. We are in total limbo right now, just waiting, it is very frustrating.
David got a promotion at work. He is now a QA supervisor. Exciting yes, but he is going to be working 8 pm to 4 am which is not very exciting. But having the title will help in the long run and he won't have to work that shift forever. I suppose I will get used to it.
Valentines Day was great. We celebrated on Monday. Dave made me a great breakfast and then let me go back to bed until after 11 a.m. We then just hung out at home and then went to Bountiful to go swimming and go out to dinner. It was great to go on a date, that hasn't happened for a really long time.
So that is our life as of late. Not very exciting but it's life, right? Hope your lives are just as not exciting but fulfilling.

PEE

I have had it with PEE! That's right my house, my laundry, my kids, EVERYTHING smells like PEE. Cora pees her pants daily, Dawson misses the toilet three or fours times a day, the dog pees, mostly outside, but sometimes in. I am cleaning up PEE a gazillion times a day and I am sick of it. SERIOUSLY! The only ones not making a mess with their PEE is Dave, Cait and I. Why can't the others learn? I could scream!!!!
We WERE planning on getting new carpet throughout the house in a couple of weeks, but what is the point? Might as well not ruin good carpet, might as well just let the old carpet get ruined, and then when everyone is finally potty trained properly then we'll get new carpet. AAAAAH!
