Howdy Y'all

Just winding down for the night and thought I would add some pictures. Life is pretty normal around the south. The most exciting thing is the skiff of snow we got last week. The kids didn't get a snow day but they didn't have to go to school until 10.

Buddy has played a lot of basketball this season. He really loves it so that is nice and he is improving. This gym is in one of the older schools in Huntsville. It made me feel like we were in an old basketball movie and the night was going to end in Dawson scoring the final game winning point. Loved the feeling and the day dream.

Cora's first grade started a reading incentive program called Owlsome Readers (school mascots an owl). They had a big kick off rally with songs, a skit, a parade of characters and the Hunstville Drumline. Very cool! We've already read 30 books since Friday so she earns a t-shirt tomorrow. Every book from here on in earns her a new set of awesome prizes!

How cool is it that I live by NASA and seeing an astronaut at school is completely normal? Love it!

Bean!!!

David doesn't allow me to celebrate him on Valentines Day so we celebrated him today. The kids heart-attacked our house and I made roast and potatoes and homemade rolls! And yes, the rolls were shaped like hearts cause that's how I roll! :)

11 Months, What?

That's right, one more month and this kid will be one! One more month of these adorable pictures. I can't wait to throw them all together to see how he has changed.

Christmas and New Year!

Christmas this year was fabulous! Not that it isn't normally fabulous, but it was really nice this year.  We loved Christmas in Alabama. We missed all the parties, but only long enough to remember there was a party.
We had a lot of fun out here experiencing Christmas traditions in other parts of the country. Not to terribly different but there were some fun activities that we were able to get involved in.

Now enough chatter more pictures.

Bean was so sick on Christmas. He really just laid around for most of the day. It made me sad.

Davids favorite gift, The Potty Putter. Thanks Craig and Tanae!

 Lego time!

We were very blessed for Christmas. A little too blessed maybe?

 Bean!

Speaks volumes to her personality! Happy New Year!

I got cussed :)

My moms are great. They both keep me on top of this blog by letting me know it has been a while. I have to admit that uploading pictures has become one of my least favorite things. I do appreciate my phone and all it makes easier in my sometimes very hectic life. But alas, I should update the world in what is happening in our little family.

We went to an amazing aquarium in Chatanooga on New Years day. Super cool and huge! Loved it.

Bean! He's just too cute not to post pictures of. I will eventually get his 11 month pictures up here.

Buddy had his very first Pinewood Derby! It was an interesting event :s I can't say I loved it but the boy did, so that is what counts, right?

We went to an old railway station and I took this picture (obviously) but can you spot Buddy?

Last night we found out that Ms. Cait won 2nd place at the city level for the photo she took for the Reflections Competition. Now her photo gets to move in to the state competition! So excited for her.

Beans is how old??

What the heck! This little boy is getting too old for his own good. He is 10 months now, 10 MONTHS! Where the heck did all that time go? I sat down and watched the videos from the day he was born yesterday and I can't believe he was ever that tiny and that it was that long ago.
I failed in posting his nine month pictures so the first one was a month ago. He was right around 25 lbs and had 6 teeth! Between 9-10 months he started crawling and is now a hazard. I have lost him several times after putting him down. He just disappears.

Now my fat guy is ten months old and is almost 26 lbs. He still has just 6 teeth. He loves to snuggle and  loves the song Hush Little Baby. He loves me but he is very excited to see David when he get home from work. I think we will have a daddies boy on our hands soon.

The first half of November

Well hello again, mom! I am sure it is just my mother reading this blog. But at least I have one reader. Positive thinking, right?
Anyway, I thought I would catch up on our happenings. I get really far behind and then my posts end up forever long! Oh well, what else do you have to do mom?

We finally went to the Mellow Mushroom on Saturday. I didn't know it was a pizza place until we were walking in, so I was a little disappointed in my quick choice. However, it was really good pizza in a very cute environment. In case you can't see that small writing without your glasses, it says "this guy is roasting marshmallows in the restaurant." So cute.

We got to sit in the "cut in half" streamline trailer. And yes that is a kyaker hanging from the ceiling.

Dawson started basketball season. I love it here way more than Jr Jazz. He is actually learning how to play basketball instead of just running around the court and the coaches are amazing.

Cait and Cora entered the reflections contest at school and they both won first place for their entries. Cait in photography and Cora drew a picture. Their entries are now in the city competition.

For Veterans Day we went to Sipsey Wilderness for a hike! It was so pretty! And quite the adventure! Cliffs and caves and water and huge leaves! See that bright spot on the rock at the front? That's a leaf!!! Shut the front door right! Huge!

If you look real close at Cora, she is holding a lovely bouquet of those huge leaves!

Sometime the first part of this month we went to Fayetteville's Host of Christmas Past. Really all we did was eat and walk through the little cemetery tour. But it was kind of fun. A definite do for next year but I want to get there earlier in the day.

That same day we went to the mall for story time with Santa, the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who! Kind of lame, but the kids got milk and cookies and a pillow case. Hip hip hooray more linens. I do have to give props to Huntsville though, they have a ton of family friendly things to do, especially during the holidays. I can't even keep up with them all.
So happy day mom! Enjoy your afternoon with grandma and grandpa! And if you are lucky Soy Beans nine month pics will be up tomorrow sometime.

All for Grandma!

I called my mother today and sweet miss belle quickly took the call over. One of the very first things I hear grandma ask is what miss belle was for Halloween and if I had posted pictures to the blog yet? Well here's to you Gma. Halloween pics just for you ( and a few others)

We went to Guntersville res or the river that creates the res. The little beach was so pretty and the kids loved it.

It's cotton! I know this may seem weird to you but we have lived her for almost four months and this is the first Cotton field I have seen.

Beans was a bat.

Dawson a zombie pirate, Cora a cat and Cait was a very fashionable skeleton.

This was crazy sock/hair day. Cait was not very happy that I forced her to participate. She was sure no one else her age would be, but when we got to school she was by far the most mild of her grade.

Tri-ward trunk or treat. Cait was a rock star this time.

Ward festival. Dawson was a ninja and Cora was a witch!
(These pics are in reverse order.)
