Poor Blabby
Cora has been walking around the house, or just laying on the floor wondering where her Blabby went (aka Labby). She was laying on the floor and said "mommy I crying. I can't find my Blabby." She was doing it all day. So I told David when he got home, and she pretended to cry again. David asked her "where did Labby go?" She looked up, saw the bird and said, "Popcorn ate my Blabby." We were laughing so hard, we about cried with her.

Why? Poor Thing
Have you ever had to strip your baby down on the freeway to their birthday suits so that they could go pee? I hadn't until today. Yeah that's right. Poor Miss Belle was stripped to nothing at all at 20 degrees outside, on the freeway, just so she could not pee in her car seat and jammies. Not my idea of a great time, but it was a little amusing. The poor thing was covered in goose bumps and shivering by the time she finished, but the job was done and the car was so warm she recovered quickly. Oh the life of a mother, you never know what will happen next.

A few of my Favorite things
In reverse order by day:

Thursday we got a new puppy. Her name is Zoey (at least for the time being Dave keeps wanting to change it). We love her already. The sad part to this story is, our dog of five years, Labby (the beagle), is going to a new home. We had to make the choice being that we are moving and it's unlikely we will have a fully fenced yard and trust me Labby needs it, and she will go to a home with a companion dog and can be inside all the time. I cry alot about it but it's for the best I think.
Monday: I rearranged bedrooms because of some sleeping or should I say lack of sleeping issues, so Caitlin got her princess bed back. And let me tell you she feels like a princess, she even dressed the part so I had to take a picture.
Christmas Day: We have another new pet, her name is Popcorn and we love her too. She is so fun to watch. She was abused so we adopted her, thanks to my pet loving sister. The cage in the picture is the one she came in but now she has a super awesome cage. I haven't taken a pic yet so if you want to see it you have to come over.

New Year Card
I wanted so bad to do an actual Christmas Card this year, but it just didn't work out. I guess I am just not meant to send out cards. So here it is again this year, on my blog and so impersonal. But you can't say I didn't try. I did. Here is the run down of 2009 at the Young house.
Cora: She is a stinker. We love her to pieces but man is she busy. She is into everything, not just once but 3 or 4 times. We are repeatedly punishing the girl for the same thing. She is very curious and very motivated. Since last year, she has learned many words, speaks pretty clear, and is POTTY Trained. She was only 27 months old and it has been great. I am done with diapers.
Dawson: He is growing so fast. He turned 4 this year and is a boy through and through. He is a little less afraid of everything and more imaginative and inventive. He can often be found fitting invisible foes. He is also very funny. He comes up with the strangest phrases and makes us laugh our heads off every day. He LOVES preschool and has made some good friends. Finally, is what I say.
Caitlin: Busy as always. She is very creative and doing great with her drawing. More and more her figures are taking shape and actually look pretty close to the real thing. She is in the first grade and has gotten 100% on all of her reading and spelling tests except one she got 90% on that one, she was a little saddened over that one. She has also started soccer this year and loves it. I was hoping in a small way that she wouldn't but she took to it like a fish out of water, she just needs to be a little more aggressive which just isn't her. She is in dance again. Loving it! She is doing great and has her two little best friends in class with her.
David and I: We had a very busy year this year. We were asked to be Ma's and Pa's for Trek, which was awesome and an experience I actually hope to be able to do again some day. We also went to Boston for a vacation this year. It was so good to be able to spend time with just David. We had a few little bumps but over all I am very glad we went. David applied for a job in Ohio this year, we were literally 30 seconds from moving there, when David chose at the very last minute that we needed to stay right where we are. He spent a lot of time traveling for work this year. It was a fun experience, but we were always glad when daddy came home. He is still working on his masters and hopefully we will be going back to Boston in early 2011 for graduation. Our home is also for sale so we are super busy with that. I will miss this home so much when we move. Great times have been had, but it is time to move on, literally.
That is our year in a nutshell. It was great and stressful, and will be memorable that is for sure. I hope 2010 is a little less stressful, but then again how do we grow if we don't have challenges? I wish you all a great 2010.

Happenings of Late
I haven't posted about my family for a little while, I know bad mom, but life is just too busy. So here are a few pictures and a few thoughts of the last few weeks.
The kids have played in the snow alot. Cait loves it, Cora wishes she loved it and Dawson can handle it.
We also made sugar cookies. I have been trying to use my cute advent calendar as an activity calendar too and do fun Christmasy things a few days a week. The kids loved it and I am pretty sure that cookies was all they had for dinner that day.
We went to my old roommates house for a Christmas party. There are now more children than adults when we get together these days. We are kind of excited for the day when the kids can stay home and we can all go to Park City or Vegas for a weekend.
We played Santa and his reindeer today. The kiddos made reindeer faces and hats in school so that helped with the role play. They loved it of course.
And last but not least, Cait and I made an adorable set for Cora for Christmas. We made a TUTU and a Crown. I think they turned out great. Cait was excited to help and designed the crown all by herself. It was fun to make something super cute with Cait.
Dawson likes to ask how to spell words and he often puts letters together that don't spell anything, so he asked me "what does DSO spell?" I said "nothing" kind of getting annoyed with this game, and he got so excited, "Dad I just spelled NOTHING!" We laughed our heads off.
