A Hiking We Will Go!

Well graduation was last weekend and unfortunately we didn't make it. Apperently we couldn't get home once we got to Boston, so we had to scrap the whole trip. Instead however, we took the kids to St. George and to Zion National Park and had a GREAT trip.

Dancie! Dance!

Dance is over for the year. It is a little weird. Really nothing should be ending yet, because it is still freezing so it feels like we should be still dancing and going to school, but alas it is all over. The girls were amazing. Cora wasn't watching the teachers, she was watching the girls and copying what they did, and for some odd reason she walked to the front of the stage, did a little dance and then joined the others. It was hilarious. And Cait was beautiful as always.

Our own little flock.

Yep I have gone back to my roots. Okay Dave went back to my roots and started his own little urban farm. We got four baby Rhode Island Red Hens yesterday. They are dang cute. I am already attached to them and the kids love them. They each have their own and even named them. There is Lola, Caramel, Chic and Amsterdam (that ones Dave's). So in a few weeks, if you need an egg or two, come on over we should have plenty.

**Sadness. One of the Chicks died on Mothers Day. Cora took her out before church and we didn't know and it was so cold. Poor things, both Cora and the chick. Cora was devastated.

*** Oh another huge sadness. Today, June 7, Zoee killed all but one chicken. Dave put alot of work into closing off the garden and just finished cleaning out the coop in the back last night. He let them out this morning and left Zoee outside aswell. She climbed under the gate and killed them. I am having a really hard time forgiving Zoee today. Everytime I look at her I want to kick her and tell her to go away. I am jsut feeling really sad for those poor chicks today.

On another note. Dawson started T-Ball a few weeks ago, but Tuesday was his first game. He is so cute when he plays, but is scared as usual. He will get out and play but he is afraid of moving from his designated spot. Like he is going to get in trouble if he moves. He'll figure it out soon though and it is fun to watch, the kids are hilarious.

If you can zoom in, check out his tongue. He is always sticking his tongue out when he is concentrating, or embarrassed. It's so darn cute!

I Am So Proud

The day finally came. My Sweets is the Newest Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her special day came and went way too fast. It took forever getting here but once school was out Friday it was all a blur after that. She had a great birthday party. We went Luau style. There were lei's and flower clips, hula skirts and the limbo, Hawaiian Haystacks and beach cupcake. All in all it was a great party. I never did get a picture of the whole bunch, but they had a great time.
She also got spoiled on the present scene. Her friends nailed her likes to a tee, and her long awaited American Girl Doll Kanani finally arrived in her hands (it's been in the house for over a month).
It was a ton of fun, but man was I tired when I finally rolled into bed around mid-night. Unfortunately I still couldn't sleep because I was too darn worried about cooking the meat and getting it done in time for lunch after the baptism. I was up at 5:30 putting the meat in the cookers, then I read through the recipe just to make sure it was going to be done. The darn recipe said it only needed to cook for 2 hours!!!! Yikes!!! Oh well, it was so tender and sooooo yummy. It was worth the loss of sleep I guess.

The baptism was an amazing experience. She looked beautiful. Literally like an angel. I was so proud of her and she was so excited. She really knew why she was getting baptized and the importance of it. Her little spirit was glowing. I wish I knew how to write how amazing it was, but like my testimony in church today, it wouldn't make sense, just a jumbled mess. But the important thing is that she was ready and excited to become a member of the church. It was really special all the way around.
Lucky her, she was baptized on her birthday so she got really spoiled Saturday as well. So many people love her it was a little overwhelming. Thank you cards are definitely on their way. I am so grateful for everyone that supported not only Cait, but me as well. My family and friends helped out in so many ways. It was stressful but not chaotic because of all the help we received. Thank you EVERYONE!.
Cait, We love you so much and we are so grateful you were sent by our Heavenly Father to bless our home and family. Your sweet spirit radiates where ever you go. Never loose that light.

Random Pictures

We have had a lot of fun these first few days of April. Luckily we were blessed with sunshine for a few days, but then had buckets full of snow for most of the other 10 days. We have enjoyed all of it.

April 1.

We took advantage of the low 70's and went to the zoo for the kids day off of school. The animals were active and also loved the weather. I love going to the zoo and I have a ton of fun talking to the kids about the animals.

We also stopped at the library on the way out of SLC. The kids love the downtown library. They loved helping me put change in the parking meter and love the cool water to stick their feet in.

They also thought the city and county building was the "Coolest" building they had ever seen.

April 3.

It snowed like crazy and we had a good foot or more. The kids loved playing in it, I had fun taking pictures in it. But it was dang cold and it was April for heaven's sake.

My All Time Favorite Picture of Dawson!!!! I love this picture so much. It makes me smile every time I look at it. I think I will blow it up and put it on the wall?

I am prejudice I know, but I think she looks beautiful in this picture. I have been calling her my Baby Beauty the last few weeks. Ya know, Belle does mean Beauty.

April 5.

We went to the Great Salt Lake to get some pictures for Cait's baptism. I am still very much learning how to use a nice camera, but it was a heck of a lot of fun but very cold. We had a nice Native American man let us down on the docks to take some fun pictures.

April 6.

I had the privilege of chaperoning Dawson's class to the zoo. It was sooo much fun. The kids were great, the other parents were great to be around and it was one of the few nice days. Loved every minute of it. I was seriously tired when I got home and slept for like 13 hours, but hey that's what kids do to you, completely wear you out.

So Beautiful!!!
See that white thing? That's a mouse in the snakes mouth. Yeah, we saw two snakes getting breakfast.

April 10.

Once again I just played around with the camera (I will be so sad to return it). The kids didn't mind either.

Dawson got a little fake mustache from the dentist a while ago, and I found this pic on my cell phone. She's so silly.

Here's the winner

Thank you all for your votes. I love the response. I used the top two picks and made two very similar announcements. Trust me I have done 8 different ones and these two are my fave's. What do you think? I like them both but can't decide on which one. The final decision will come down to Cait. I could really get into this digital scrapbooking/card making business.
