Oh My Vintage Overload!

This weekend we were at Dave's family reunion. No mountains, no lake, just a huge garage filled to the brim with old things. Grandpa Boss had four wives and four children , and he stuffed that garage full of things to remind him of them. When he died it was decided to go through all of that stuff and give it away to grandchildren. It was really fun to be able to see all of his stuff. He had the front page of a newspaper when FDR won an election (I'm not sure what year it was). There was sooooo much stuff. We had an auction yesterday afternoon for the big stuff and then were able to just rummage through the rest of it. These are just a few of the things I pulled out.

You Can Not tell me that you don't love this hat (oh and the photoshop I did to the back ground).
We found out that Grandma Lola pieced together a ton of quilts but never finished them, so I took some. I want to finish them and give them to the kids as a reminder of Grandma Lola.

That bowl in the bottom pic reminds me of growing up. My mom's house was that color, the frige, the stove, the counters the floor and almost all her kitchen stuff, and what wasn't green was gold!!!
In fact I wouldn't be surprised if she had that exact bowl.

AWESOME!! Good for you for taking the quilts...that's a terrific idea. (And yes, I love the Photoshop work!)

You are so lucky to have old quilts! That is awesome you can fix them up.I have an old, old one from my grandma and the fabric is just worn out.
