Slug o' derby!

Our weekend consisted of a family reunion and the demolition derby. Both were really fun. Some emotional times but mostly great.Dave's family is really great to be around and we had a lot of fun. Bunko was hilarious. We women play it every year at our girls night out, but this was the first time that the men and kids had played. It was a sight. I didn't win anything it is sad to say. My feelings weren't too hurt though, the last time I played at the girls night out I won six times. However, those that won more than once got to share and I brought home a really cute frame with a saying on it. Dave won the gift he took which made him really happy, fishing lures, go figure?
We spent the night in his sister's back yard. Not to bad except that our air mattress went flat and there was a lighting storm at around 6 a.m. We didn't go to bed until 12:30 a.m. including the kids, so waking up after 6 hours of sleep made for a really long day.

This is the only picture I got of the reunion (I lost my camera and had to use my cell phone). Doesn't this slug look like something out of a night mare? My little nephew found it and said "come look at the big worm." Everyone loved it and Dave wanted to keep it as a pet. No thank you!
We decided to take the kiddo's to the demolition derby last night. This is where it got emotional. We left Layton yesterday after two hours of swimming so our kids were starving. We got home just in time to throw a bowl of cereal on the table and run to the derby. Cora didn't eat her cereal so she was still hungry and apparently thirsty. So before the derby started I got her a drink, well that meant four trips to the bathroom, one of which was to the men's room with David which was really gross I guess. We also made three trips to the concession stand trying to keep everyone happy for 5 hours. We were all tired and grumpy and that made for a fun but really emotional derby. Still it was a great show and the two older kids loved it.

Dawson was on cloud nine. Just the thing he wanted to see. Cars running into each other just for fun.
Do you see that white car mid picture? That car was on top of another car. The kids loved that. We also saw a small car thrown in the air during the figure eight race and land right back on it's wheels. WA Hoo! Great fun!
