From the time we moved in this house, David has been asking for a learning room. Plush chairs, tables, and a library full of books. He wants somewhere that our kiddo's can do their homework and study. His dream. Not possible in our small house. But there is a corner in our kitchen that gets used for nothing but junk. Then I saw this article in This Old House magazine that started my brain working for that corner. I didn't need the giant calendar, although that would be cool, but I thought the kids would love a place on the wall that is completely okay to draw on. So I wasted no time this week and got started. So far the walls are painted, the chalkboard is painted, and the desk is in there, but there is still lots I want to do. Like, find a chair that actually fits at the desk, an ABC banner, a book sleeve, a frame for the chalkboard and maybe even a rug. But finding those things are a little harder to find than I thought it would. Oh well, I will be patient and find what I want instead of giving in to just anything.
Cora was home and very willing to model the new learning corner.

I know of a couple of sources for ABC banners. I'll send them to you later so that you can see if they have what you want.
Your learning center looks good.
That is a very cute idea, I am sure the kiddo's will love it!
