Catching Up!

Hello there! It is so nice to see you again. I can't believe it has been 3 months since I posted. We had Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, Sawyer was born (most important) and in just a few days I will be 33! What the heck happened to the time?
Well, I am not going to try to catch up with anything but the birth of our beautiful 4th baby, Sawyer Lincoln. He was born on Tuesday, February 19th at 6:56 a.m., weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20 and a half inches long.

(Day One)

Indulge me a little while I journal all about my labor and delivery. My labor was bearable. I started for real Monday (Presidents Day) with contractions pretty consistently spaced. But, they didn't hurt so I wasn't in a hurry to run to the hospital just to get sent home. So, I went about my day. I went to the beauty supply store, had my toe nails done, visited with my sister-in-law. Totally normal, until around 8:30 p.m. I was tired of the wondering if the contraction were doing anything and they started to hurt a little bit. I told David to "lets go", I jumped in the shower (had to shave my legs ;) ) while he got his mom to come watch the other three kiddo's and then we were off. When we finally got checked in, I was only at 3 1/2 centimeters. I was sure I was going to be sent home, but, the nurse came back in and said the doc was coming in to break my water. Hurray!!!! He got there just before midnight and I was at a 4, by 1 o'clock when I finally got my epidural (which was horrible! I have never felt my epidurals go in before and the whole process hurt with this one) I was at a 6!!! Unfortunately, the epidural decided to slow my progress down just a titch and it took 6 more hours to get my boy out into the world. Around 4:30 I was at a 9  and the nurse said she would come right back in after she called the doctor. I didn't see her again for about an hour and I was only a 9 1/2 so she gave me some pitocin to get me the rest of the half centimeter. Anyway, I was so tired and had the chills I didn't even care. The doc finally got there at 6:45, I pushed 3 times and I had a beautiful little boy in my arms. The delivery was really peaceful and surreal, everyone was so quiet and calm, even David and I. It almost felt like I wasn't even there. Strange feeling.

(Day Two)

Anyway, I am so glad that I am not pregnant anymore. My actual due date was last Sunday the 10th and I did a little happy dance that I already had my baby and he was almost 3 weeks old!!!

(One Week)

Now, a little about his name. We had Sawyer picked out for a long time but we had no idea what his middle name would be. About a week before he was born we wrote down 32 names we liked and then had everyone (the kids and Dave and I) vote on their favorite between two names until we finally had it narrowed down to Maxwell. I could tell however, that Dave was not thrilled about that. I told him to pick it himself, the middle name was totally up to him. Well, when I was having contractions on Presidents Day Dave said that if he was born that day then his middle name would be Lincoln. Unfortunately, he came 7 hours past Presidents Day so Dave was still struggling. I filled out the birth certificate but left the middle name blank until he decided. He finally made his choice just before we were discharged. So, Sawyer Lincoln it is. I am just glad it is not Samuel David!!!! (Sorry, inside joke).

(11 Days New! Yes, I crocheted a top hat for him just because his middle name is Lincoln. I am a dork like that).

So my little Soy Bean is here! He is a gorgeous baby and so content. He really is only mad when I have to change his diaper and then he gives the cutest little scream. He loves his pacifier and to be swaddled. Last Wednesday at his 2 week appointment he weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. (he lost a lot of weight after he was born) and was 21 3/4 inches long. I think he is going to be long and skinny like is big brother.
So, there is the story of Sawyer. I hope you enjoyed the long version. Being my last baby, I have a great desire to write down everything (so I hope anyway). So if you see a lot of "The Beans" posts on here, don't be surprised.
