Oh My Vintage Overload!

This weekend we were at Dave's family reunion. No mountains, no lake, just a huge garage filled to the brim with old things. Grandpa Boss had four wives and four children , and he stuffed that garage full of things to remind him of them. When he died it was decided to go through all of that stuff and give it away to grandchildren. It was really fun to be able to see all of his stuff. He had the front page of a newspaper when FDR won an election (I'm not sure what year it was). There was sooooo much stuff. We had an auction yesterday afternoon for the big stuff and then were able to just rummage through the rest of it. These are just a few of the things I pulled out.

You Can Not tell me that you don't love this hat (oh and the photoshop I did to the back ground).
We found out that Grandma Lola pieced together a ton of quilts but never finished them, so I took some. I want to finish them and give them to the kids as a reminder of Grandma Lola.

My Knight In Shinning Armour!

Isn't he Cute? He got this little get-up for working so hard and filling up his gemstone cup (long story). So Dave did a little treasure hunt for him and this is what he found at the end. I love my buddy and he's so darn cute too.

WARNING! DO NOT WALK.

I thought it would be fun today just to see how long it would take me to walk to the school, get the kids and walk back. In my mind I knew it was a long way, but I thought I am young I should be able to do this. Well I did it, but I am sure that I have my walking quota for the millennium. We stopped at the park to take a breather, but that distance wasn't even the hardest part, it was from there on (stupid city without side walks) that was the hardest. I will NEVER do that again.

And one more thing, Miss Belle has a fat lip again :(. She was playing of the trike and did a face plant on the cement. Apparently she bit her lip and it swelled. It is a lot smaller today than it was yesterday, but I thought I would still post a pic. Sorry for the food, she's sitting right next to me eating. Poor Miss Belle.

When I post I post!

As my wise cousin-in-law puts it, this is a SPECTACULARLY BAD PARENTING moment. I was doing laundry and Cora was crying so I set her on top of the dryer while I grabbed more clothes for the washer, I was only turned around for a sec and this is how I found her.
So I quickly grabbed my camera, that was sitting just right there, and took a couple of pics. I should have known that the lover of water would have tried to climb in.

just messing around

I love looking at my friends landscape pictures. She always puts a filter on them and I love the look so I tried to mess around let me know what you think. BEFORE AFTER

Post 100 and Onions

Holy Cow, I just noticed as I was signing in that this will be post 100. Hooray for me. I guess it has been about 1 year since I started this little escapade. I have had tons of fun and until recently (I got really busy) I haven't tired of it or gotten bored. I really hope that over the next few years I will have plenty to say and maybe reach 1000, in 10 years or so. I just noticed on my side bar it says that I have only done 88. Post's I guess I have not published all the ones that I have written.
And the onion. Rose came over today with garden produce which included some onions. I was holding Cora and she wanted the onions. I tried to take them away from her but she just got mad at me and held on tight. I just had to take a pic in a pot. As I am typing this I start smelling onion. The girl is eating them like an apple. What am I going to do with her? Maybe she will be the first of my kids to love them like I do.

Not much to say!

I haven't blogged for so long that I thought I would right some non-interesting things about my children.
Cait is loving school. I thought it would take another 5 years or so before she was so anxious to leave that she wouldn't give me a kiss on the way out. But it has started already. :( I was worried about her teacher, but she loves her and is having a great time. They had turtle races the other day and she said she was leading but that another kid went just fast enough to pull out the win, but she took second place. It's been a little weird to have her gone, but she is gone for such a short time that sometimes it feels like I just dropped her off and I have to turn around and pick her up.
Dawson is hilarious. He has been saying the funniest things lately. He says so many that I can't even think of one right now. And he is so polite. Always asking before he can do something and even when we tell him yes he asks again just to make sure. He is getting braver is some areas. He used to be afraid to jump from anything unless we were standing there to catch him, but since we got the bunk beds he jumps from the top of the ladder. And thinks it's cool so he does it over and over again.
Cora Belle is just Miss Belle. She is either getting another tooth or going through a growth spurt, because she is ornery as can be and wiggly. She is starting to walk though. The preference is still crawling, but she will take a few steps when provoked by chocolate chips. She is also saying a few things like Uh-Oh, and daddy and mama. Her favorite thing is to eat the plant, play in the toilet, and go outside.
