Sledding and Presents

The beautiful snow storm we had Friday offered great sledding material for Saturday. We went down to Manti to have a family Christmas party and while we were there we took advantage of the snow, grabbed a four wheeler and sled and got very cold. Great times were had by all. It's actually me can you believe it?

Sunday we had my family party. First we went to church at Ken and Wendy's ward. They had to speak and the kids were singing. It was super great and the spirit was awesome. We got to sit up in the balcony which I am so jealous of. I love old church's and want to move to an area that I can go to church in an old building again (when we lived in SLC we had an even cooler old church). The bishop told Dave that the location of said church was actually supposed to be for the Temple, (foundation laid and everything) but Brigham Young went to Manti and corrected them. So it became the Manti Tabernacle and ward building. It is a really beautiful church. They even had a tree and garland, I want to know where all that is in our building???

After church was our PARTY!!! All was great fun and the kids loved all their presents as did Dave and I. I got new towels (yea) and a new crock pot (double Yea) I was so happy. The kids got to make gingerbread men and women and we even saw Santa (aka, Uncle Ken). I love Christmas!!!!
Miss Belle refuses to sleep any where but home, so come lunch time, she was out like a light.

Had she known it was Uncle Ken, she may not have been to mad? But you never know?

Christmas Program

Cait's kindergarten had their Christmas Program today. It was the Christmas Alphabet and Cait represented the Q. Here are a few pics from her big show.
Cait and her Cousin Tim waiting for the big show to begin.
She got to snuggle with a Quilt, so she could be nice and warm for Christmas.

Look What I Can Do!!!!

YES I am potty training my toddler, and yes she is actually a toddler, 17 months can you believe it? I am not doing this as a push, but she has shown great interest in the potty. She always comes in when someone else is using it and tries to take off her diaper. So I whipped out the baby potty and got to work. No luck today though, she just tested it every couple of seconds and then would walk away and come back a minute later. I am not really expecting anything, but if it only took her a month or two, wowie cazowie, I would be one happy mother.

Tis the Season

We had a very busy Monday. I took Cait ice skating, and we all went to see the lights at Temple Square. It was darn cold but we survived without any frost bite. Sorry the pics are fuzzy I had to use my cell phone, I forgot my camera in the rush of the morning.
Cait absolutely loved ice skating. When she took it slow she hardly fell, but when she started getting brave she fell alot.
"Mom my face is freezing and you're making me smile for a picture. Cruel and unusual punishment."

The trees in the background are covered in red and orange lights Dave's favorite colors. Have you noticed and alarming trend in my blog? I am missing. No one ever takes a picture of mom I feel so left out.

I just have to add that my amazing husband (yes Bugs, he's still better than yours) took me out for a night on the town last night. Dinner down town and then a movie and two pairs of new boots for Christmas. I am the luckiest woman alive. Plus it put me in a better mood then I have been in for the last two days. Yea for husbands.

The Most Beautiful Thing

I saw the most beautiful thing today, and you would never guess it was right in my own home.

I bought little mirror balls last year to put on my tree. I always thought they were pretty, but what I wanted them to do was reflect the light. They never did last year and they hadn't this year, until today. Our tree fell over last night and I was too tired to put it back together. So after a good nap today I got right on it. It started to look dark in my living room so I opened the blinds on the west side of the room and bam, the room was glittering. The light hit that globe and sent hundreds of little lights all over the room. Then Miss Belle came in and wonder flooded her face. It truly was magic. I stood there for who knows how long just in awe. It truly was the magic of Christmas right there in my house, one of Gods tender mercies reminding me what is really important in this life. My children and my family! God's light was right there in my living room not only reflecting from the dollar store mirror ball, but my babies face.
