Here's the winner

Thank you all for your votes. I love the response. I used the top two picks and made two very similar announcements. Trust me I have done 8 different ones and these two are my fave's. What do you think? I like them both but can't decide on which one. The final decision will come down to Cait. I could really get into this digital scrapbooking/card making business.

Which One

I have a dilemma. I am making baptism announcements for Caitlin, but I can't decide on a picture??? Now I took these pics myself and they aren't where I want them to be edit-wise, but will you choose your favorite and vote in the poll to the right, so I can have some help choosing which one to use. Thanks so much.

This is Me!

I have been thinking a lot about who I am. What are my likes? How would I truly decorate my house if I had unlimited funds?
Here are my thoughts on myself. I was raised in the country. Worked on the farm my whole life, rode horses and 4wheelers and my first car was a dumb truck. I like cowboy boots and hats. And I love that when I am outside (in the country) I can hear crickets, and sprinkler lines and see the stars. I love the smell of fresh cut hay and I don't mind the smell of cow manure. I like to be outside and climbing mountains and getting dirty. I like to be laid back and not take life to seriously. I fight when I need to but otherwise, I go with the flow.
But then there is this other side of me, that I think most people know. I like to look pretty, I like classy stuff in my house, I want a smart phone and all the tech gadgets I can find. I don't wear cowboy boots or hats, I drive an SUV not a pickup truck. Sometimes I am too stressed out and fight more often then is necessary. I would live smack dab in the middle of SLC, or NYC or Boston, if I could.
So really what my problem is, is finding a happy medium between the two sides of me. City girl, or country hick?

Darn Near a Month Ago!

I am getting really bad at this blogging stuff. One a month just isn't cutting it.
March has been pretty mellow around here though. We mostly just hung out and did the everyday normal stuff.
David only has one class left till he is done with his Masters Degree. Hallelujah!
We went down and branded calf's with my dad and brothers. Okay Dave did the nasty stuff. He even prego tested the cows.
I turned 31 last week. It was a pretty fun day. Discovery Gateway with the fam, Sostanza with the hubby, and a headache for the rest of the night. Fun though. I got a new bed set and a king size bed. Another Hallelujah.
And that leads us to today. A long Sunday evening with nothing to do but sleep and make cookies. I did do sharing time today, which was fine. I really feel unorganized when it comes to only having 15 minutes. Oh well life moves on.
Dawson had a dentist appointment on Tuesday. He was so numb he couldn't smile for hours.
As boring as March has been April should have lots of posts. Lots and lots going on in the fourth month of 2011. So excited!!!
Well until next time. Enjoy my short update.
PS Cora prayed the other day at breakfast that she could be reverent and listen to her teacher, and then prayed that she wouldn't have to sleep in her own bed. Oh what a clown.

Just for fun

Anyone ready for winter to be over, raise your hand!!!! I was so spring feverish a week ago and now my kiddo's are building snowmen again. And big ones at that. That can only mean there was lots of snow. Yikes. I am sure glad that Spring coming is like the sun rising. You know it will happen, you just have to wait for it.

Well I left Cait with her Auntie Heather last night after Auntie Alison's baby shower. She was so excited she could hardly breathe. So she got to spend the day with her fave cousin today and they chose to build a gargantuan snowman. Luckily, Uncle Jason was there to help with the stacking. Still that is a huge feet if you ask me. Look at how happy my kiddo is. She's so darn cute.
We also got to do some baptism window shopping yesterday. Crazy it's coming so fast. I can't believe she is turning 8???? Where has the time gone?

Kindergartner of ther Year!!!!

Tuesday was a very proud day in our house. Dawson was given the Builder of the Year Award at school. Not of the whole school just the kindergarten, but out of 82 kids that's something pretty special. A builder at the charter school is someone that works hard, has good standards and is always ready to learn. He was given a little trophy and certificate about why he was chosen for the Award. It says "Dawson consistently shows that he is a builder in every way. He is a hard worker and attentive listener in reading. Dawson often helps other scholars to do their best by encouraging and motivating them. He is always ready to learn new information during Core Knowledge time and responds enthusiastically during direct instruction lessons! Dawson is always kind and shows respect to everyone who works with him. It is a joy to have Dawson in our class this year. He is truly an all-star college kindergartner!!!!"
Look at the look on his face? Says it all. And there I am crying.
Isn't that so sweet? He was so cute walking up there (in front of the whole school amidst loud cheering) with his teacher and I couldn't help but cry. That and they were playing Josh Grobin's You Raise Me Up. Dawson wasn't sure what to think (he didn't know before hand). He had a look on his face like "what the heck is this all about?" He told me after that he didn't think it would be him, he was sure it was someone else. He loved the attention he got in class afterward too. Everyone told him congratulations. The cool thing to is his teacher received the Teacher of the Year Award, so it was fun for them to celebrate together.
All Builders (one from each class except 7th and 8th, there were two from those grades. And Teacher, staff and volunteer of the year).
We are so proud of him for working so hard. We honestly have the best kids in the world. Cait told me today she wants to work super hard and get Builder of the Year next year (or she's staying at the charter school til she does).

Few and Far Between

I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. I guess that is what the winter blues will do. There has been very little going on in our lives for the past month. Just keeping up with school, making hair bows (she still needs some buyers) and going to grandma's for the Super Bowl. Which really was fun and was a super great break for me. My kids all spent the night at their cousins houses and I got to sleep at my moms all by myself. Loved it! Other than that, motherhood is all that I am up to and sometimes I don't even do that (cartoons have been seen in plethora at my house this winter)! Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let everyone know I have not jumped ship. I can't wait for Spring and I will have some pics to publish next week, being Valentines and all. And some super fun stuff that Dawson gets to be a part of.
Happy February!
