My Day

Before 10:45 this morning I was cleaning ash off the carpet and my two year from the fireplace in the family room, and less then five minutes later I was cleaning tooth paste off of the same child's naked stomach arms and legs, and just a few minutes ago I hear gurgling and what do I find, the same child with her head in the toilet. Where did she come from?

Poor Miss Belle

I have to share a little moment of Cora's today. She had just woken up from a nap and was really emotional. All the kids had gone out side and closed the door behind them. She came to me with little puppy dog eyes and a little frog in her throat and said, "I go out side." I said Ok and she got even more choked up, with tears in her little eyes and gesturing with her little hand and said "I can't open door." It was the cutest, saddest moment ever.

My Buddy

My buddy, my buddy, wherever I go, he goes my buddy, my buddy, my buddy and me. I was awake this morning at 3 a.m. and around 4:20 I heard the pitter patter of two little feet, and who would it be? My buddy. We cuddled and talked for a minute before we tried to go back to sleep, but it is hard to sleep when he can't sleep without touching me. Every time I moved he would move and hold my hand or put his leg on me. As annoying as it is I was loving it this morning. In Retrospect's post yesterday touched me to remember the little moments and to treasure them forever. I forget to do that some times.
Another little moment today, all three kids were running around the big silver tub we have in our back yard. I am not sure what they were doing but they were just running and screaming and laughing. I love my little ones they are just too darn cute.

Busy Girl

Caitlin has been very busy the last few weeks. She started soccer
at the end of August (they won this game),
dance last week, and somewhere in between she taught herself to ride her bike.
It's a little strange to be so busy with just one kid, the other two just sit back and watch. Too bad that won't last long, only one more year until Cora is in dance and only a few more months until Dawson is in T-ball and soccer. And I can't leave all the school stuff out, plus adding time just to be a family. We might have to cut something out some time soon.

We went to "Gopher"

You would think that having lived in Tooele now for 5 years that we would have gone to Ophir (Gopher as the kids called it) more than once or twice. But no, we went for the first time yesterday. Dave had an itch and we decided to go. What a beautiful canyon and cool little somewhat ghost town. I want to retire there.
Anyway, thought I would show you our little adventure.

Why am I crying?

Today is for sure Labor day, I have done nothing but work this morning. But it's not the work that is making me cry. I am listening to the radio and the announcer said "The last weekend of summer." And something about that sentence made me start to cry. I don't want this summer to end. I think this summer has been the best summer of my life. I have grown up this summer. As much as I hate to think that, I really have. And I have had more than my fair share of amazing experiences. Dave and I were able to go on the first out of state trip since we were married. I was able to visit amazing people that were his friends on his mission, I was able to see things I have wanted to see since I was a child, and all with my best friend. Really who wouldn't want to do that. We also had an amazing spiritual experience on Trek. I was able to make friends outside of my little ward and grow closer to my pioneer heritage. I can say I know in a small way what our wonderful pioneer families went through. Also an amazing experience with my wonderful husband.
We've been able to spend a lot of time as a family, growing together, getting mad at each other , and soaking up water like it was all going to be sucked up in the ocean at any minute. My kids all had a birthday. My baby is two and I am not pregnant, amazing. My six and four year old are better friends, and I hope I am a better mother. I just don't want this summer to end. I don't want to move on with this year. More than any other time in my life I wish that I could freeze time right now, and never let this summer go.

I Heart Dogs

I have always loved dogs. My whole life I have had a dog, minus the three years Dave and I were married and we couldn't. My family had mutts mostly, but we had a few breeds. Nika was a Dalmatian. She was very hyper and would play fetch all the time. We had a dog named Shaft. You could find a rock, throw it in the river and he would jump in and get the same rock. And he leapt like a deer, really fun to watch . Sissy was our favorite dog. She was a mutt but loyal as any dog could ever possibly be. I remember very clearly the day we lost her. Very, very sad. She used to sit out side around 3 p.m. and wait until she could see us coming home from school and then run to meet us and walk us home.
Our current dog is a Beagle. I heart Beagles. They are the most adorable dog out there. Labby's problem is she is stupid, and not loyal at all. We have had to get her out of the pound several times. But I love the dumb dog. She spent the first two years of her life in a lab (hence the name Labby) where they tested the drugs that David's work produces (sad I know). The reason I am loving Labby today is that she was being a stupid dog. I decided she needed a bath so I hooked up the hose grabbed the shampoo and started working. When I was finished I said now don't go rolling in the mud. And of course what did she do, rolled in the mud. It was really funny to watch. She looked liked she had the worse case of flees any dog had ever had. It made me laugh so I had to share. I love dogs, what would we do without them?
