It's been Fun!

We had a great day today. David has the rest of the week off so we took advantage of a fresh pay check and willing kids! We first went to the Hansen Planetarium. You know you love the look of surprise on your kids face. The Planetarium was no exception.

To David and I it was the same ole same ole, but to the kids it was the coolest thing ever. We did see Under the Sea 3D movie which was really cool. Even I was sticking my hand out trying to catch everything that flew in my face.

We then went to the Old Spaghetti Factory. The kids had received free meal coupons during the school year for reading, so we took advantage of those. They were so grateful. Apparently the ravioli was really good. And as Caitlin put it, "This place is really cool". They loved Trolley Square and walking over the highway, and the freshly made taffy daddy bought. I even felt like it was a visit to some really cool place I'd never been before. It's amazing what the wonder of a child can do.

Happy 4th

Dawson's Birthday Weekend.

This post is going to be a conglomerate of pictures from Dawson's birthday weekend. We started it off with a party on Friday. We played water balloon baseball, played in the trough, opened presents and spilled cupcakes on the cement. Great fun was had by all.

Then we headed to Grandma's house for a fun filled weekend. We played all day Saturday and then went to the Mormon Miracle Pageant last night. That is always fun and it is more fun when your 7 year old is really into it.

And today was the big day. My little Buddy isn't 4 anymore. He's a big boy now. He got to choose his birthday breakfast and eat it on the Happy Birthday plate, which he was so excited about, he was sung to in Primary, got a treat from the bishop, opened presents, and had a yummy birthday cake. Busy, busy day. I love my little Buddy!

Birthday presents are great, especially when its a bike, along with dragons, dinosaurs, 3D bubbles, batting Tees, Bakugan, bows and arrows, and walkie talkies (not all presents pictured).

Besides the birthday this morning we also got to watch hot air balloons floating around the valley. One even landed in the neighbors field and one in my day's field out on the farm. All of which we could see sitting on the back porch. The kids loved it!

Happy Birthday My LOVE!

Today was my Love's birthday. I love him so much and adore him. I am so grateful that he chose me to be his eternal companion. I couldn't have asked for more! Happy Birthday, David!

Dresses and Hoops!

I have been crafting again. I made another pillow case dress for Cait, but this time I shirred the top instead of just using an elastic. I love the way it looks. And I love the summery feel to it. Cait has become a pro at hula hooping. She just needed the right hoop and she has taken off. Right now even, she is trying to walk while spinning it. Doing great too!

I saw these cute Scrabble Tile Pendants online and thought "Good Grief those have to be easy." So I researched how to make them, hunted the DI for an old Scrabble game, bought some paper, resin and bales and got to work. The resin wasn't the easiest to manage on such little tiles but most of them worked out. David even really likes them, which is amazing because he is not much for tee-he's as he calls them. The little butterfly necklace that I am wearing is the one that the kids gave me for Mother's Day. The hula girl is the necklace Cait picked out, she loves being crafty with me.

If there was ever a day in the last 30 years I wish I could rewind and do over, yesterday would be very near the top. Good Grief! It actually started the night before. The only thing I could think about is what my family is going to wear for family pictures in a couple of weeks. I could find something I liked for everyone but me. So I was getting frustrated. I ended up not going to bed until midnight and slept in until almost 8. Bad timing when the kiddos have to be at school around 8:30. I successfully got them off to school on time but when I got home I was crushed. Dave has been wanting a new hunting rifle for a long time, and his birthday is coming up so I was going to go get it for him. I wanted to get it early, but now I have to wait until his actual day and that is irritating to me. I was getting over that and going back to obsessing about clothes for pictures when my friend called and asked a very simple favor; pick my kid up from school. Okay not a problem. I went about my day not too horribly miserable until 3:35 rolled around and the phone rang. It was an Activities Day girl wondering if we had AD yesterday. We sure did in 25 minutes and I was in charge of the craft and didn't have it yet. So I spent the next ten minutes searching the Internet for an easy craft and the house for my keys. I ran through Walmart so fast, grabbed some fabric and t-shirts then ran back out. As I was nearing my destination I drove past above mentioned friends house only to freak out when I realized I didn't pick her kid and the neighbors kid up from school. It is now 4 and school got out ten minutes after three. I start driving towards the school and then think duh they have already made it home I am sure. So I call said friend, no answer so I call said neighbor and she had received the call from the school at 3:45 to come get the girls. I was completely embarrassed and feeling lower than low. I was feeling so bad said friend and neighbor received peanut butter bars as a peace offering (sorry again).

So I was getting over my two blunders and delivered the peanut butter bars then ran to Macey's to got get a quick bite to eat and as I was driving out of the parking lot, I looked down at the clock and realized it was 17 minutes after 7 and my nephews were supposed to be at my house just after 7. I screamed a really loud scream and drove 40 mph through a 25, just praying that my sister just left the boys and didn't wake David up doing it. She left the boys, but woke David up in the process. I collapsed when David came out of the bedroom wondering where the heck I had gone and why I had forgotten yet another responsibility for the day. What a miserably crappy day. It's sure is a good thing sleep has the ability to erase the previous day and we have the opportunity to start anew. I still can't figure out where my brain went yesterday, but for safety reasons, you probably shouldn't ask me to do anything for you today, I might forget!

P.S. To add to the bad day, the frosting I put on the peanut butter bars tasted like flowery dish soap. Yeah, super great! The powdered sugar I used was in the same cupboard as my scentsy bars and apparently absorbed the smell. You can even smell the scent on the powdered sugar.
