He's Three Months Old Now

Holy Crap he is getting so big. I would say I can't believe he is already three months old, but month 2 drug on forever. So in reality I am surprised he is ONLY three months old. I love his fatness and he is developing a cute little personality. I finally got him to giggle the other day, so I get the milkshake (it was a bet).  He is 15 pounds, loves his binki and blanket (can't sleep without a blanket), he is full time sleeping in his crib now instead of the bassinet (he got too fat), he has come to expect the 12:30 walk to school, his nap schedule is very predictable now, he has found that toys taste pretty yummy and did I mention he is fat?

two months old

Here is Soy Bean and his monkey. I can't believe the difference a month has made in my little babe. I hate it, but love it at the same time. The second pic is my favorite. That is a definite hang on the wall.

This is little Bean on his blessing day. His outfit was a fiasco the week before. I thought I was so cool and could sew it all by myself. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. It turned out terrible. The vest was too small and the pants too big. Thank heaven for Amazon and two day shipping. I ordered this cute little outfit the Thursday before the blessing at 9 pm, it got here Saturday morning. Close call if you ask me. His blessing was beautiful, but David always does a great job. Sawyer however, was a pill all through sacrament meeting. I didn't hear a bit of it.
Oh and isn't his blanket adorable? Grandma Childs made it, also finished just before the blessing. We are a great bit of procrastinators.

I am the coolest mom ever, according to this picture anyway. Yes, I had Easter Robin Eggs, I licked it and painted his lips blue. I am not ashamed, and the little squirt loved the sugary sweetness. :)

PS. In case you were wondering, NO I have not taken pictures of my other children in 2 months, not counting Easter. Told you I was a stellar mom.

one moth old

So much for keeping up on Soy Bean's progress. I am a super slacker but whatever, I am a new mom all over again. I am loving it! I went through a really tough patch when I first found out I was pregnant, which now that I look back on it I am very grateful. I won't go through all the dramatic details, but that really rough patch has made me very grateful for the gift I have been given. I cherish every moment with Beansly, even at 3 in the morning when he hasn't slept all night. I just realize I won't ever go through this new mom phase again. I will never get to nurse a little babe, dress him like I want to and hold his sweet little hand in mine. He loves me with every fiber of his being. And I can't believe that he is mine, all mine. David asked me which of all the babes I have enjoyed the most and for sure it is Sawyer. I haven't experienced postpartum depression like I did with the others, so he is much more fun since I don't have to deal with that as well. He is growing so fast, it makes me very sad.

Now these are our Easter morning pictures. Not the most beautiful, but good enough and my kids personalities are shining right through these pictures. Love it.

Sawyer is actually almost 12 weeks old as I am typing this. He is much bigger next to his monkey now. I just wanted to post his monthly picture before I forget.

We Found It!!!!

HURRAY! We finally found our new home. I can't wait! Too bad I have to, for two more months! We are building in Stansbury Park and it won't be complete until the end of July (or so they say). We went out to Stansbury last night to take a peek at what had been done. The girls came with us and they are sooooooo excited. Everyone will finally get their own room and we get our own bathroom!!! You don't even know how excited I am for this. I can't think of anything else and all I do, all day every day, is pin home decorating ideas on Pinterest. Yikes! Two months can't pass fast enough.
Well, for a preview of our new home, I thought I would post some pictures of the process as it goes along. We are going to try to drive out to Stansbury every Friday evening to see how it is coming along.

Catching Up!

Hello there! It is so nice to see you again. I can't believe it has been 3 months since I posted. We had Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, Sawyer was born (most important) and in just a few days I will be 33! What the heck happened to the time?
Well, I am not going to try to catch up with anything but the birth of our beautiful 4th baby, Sawyer Lincoln. He was born on Tuesday, February 19th at 6:56 a.m., weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20 and a half inches long.

(Day One)

Indulge me a little while I journal all about my labor and delivery. My labor was bearable. I started for real Monday (Presidents Day) with contractions pretty consistently spaced. But, they didn't hurt so I wasn't in a hurry to run to the hospital just to get sent home. So, I went about my day. I went to the beauty supply store, had my toe nails done, visited with my sister-in-law. Totally normal, until around 8:30 p.m. I was tired of the wondering if the contraction were doing anything and they started to hurt a little bit. I told David to "lets go", I jumped in the shower (had to shave my legs ;) ) while he got his mom to come watch the other three kiddo's and then we were off. When we finally got checked in, I was only at 3 1/2 centimeters. I was sure I was going to be sent home, but, the nurse came back in and said the doc was coming in to break my water. Hurray!!!! He got there just before midnight and I was at a 4, by 1 o'clock when I finally got my epidural (which was horrible! I have never felt my epidurals go in before and the whole process hurt with this one) I was at a 6!!! Unfortunately, the epidural decided to slow my progress down just a titch and it took 6 more hours to get my boy out into the world. Around 4:30 I was at a 9  and the nurse said she would come right back in after she called the doctor. I didn't see her again for about an hour and I was only a 9 1/2 so she gave me some pitocin to get me the rest of the half centimeter. Anyway, I was so tired and had the chills I didn't even care. The doc finally got there at 6:45, I pushed 3 times and I had a beautiful little boy in my arms. The delivery was really peaceful and surreal, everyone was so quiet and calm, even David and I. It almost felt like I wasn't even there. Strange feeling.

(Day Two)

Anyway, I am so glad that I am not pregnant anymore. My actual due date was last Sunday the 10th and I did a little happy dance that I already had my baby and he was almost 3 weeks old!!!

(One Week)

Now, a little about his name. We had Sawyer picked out for a long time but we had no idea what his middle name would be. About a week before he was born we wrote down 32 names we liked and then had everyone (the kids and Dave and I) vote on their favorite between two names until we finally had it narrowed down to Maxwell. I could tell however, that Dave was not thrilled about that. I told him to pick it himself, the middle name was totally up to him. Well, when I was having contractions on Presidents Day Dave said that if he was born that day then his middle name would be Lincoln. Unfortunately, he came 7 hours past Presidents Day so Dave was still struggling. I filled out the birth certificate but left the middle name blank until he decided. He finally made his choice just before we were discharged. So, Sawyer Lincoln it is. I am just glad it is not Samuel David!!!! (Sorry, inside joke).

(11 Days New! Yes, I crocheted a top hat for him just because his middle name is Lincoln. I am a dork like that).

So my little Soy Bean is here! He is a gorgeous baby and so content. He really is only mad when I have to change his diaper and then he gives the cutest little scream. He loves his pacifier and to be swaddled. Last Wednesday at his 2 week appointment he weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. (he lost a lot of weight after he was born) and was 21 3/4 inches long. I think he is going to be long and skinny like is big brother.
So, there is the story of Sawyer. I hope you enjoyed the long version. Being my last baby, I have a great desire to write down everything (so I hope anyway). So if you see a lot of "The Beans" posts on here, don't be surprised.

Daddy Daughter Date

I am soooooo super jealous of this! I was supposed to go on this date as well, but because of my predicament, David said absolutely not. They went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choirs Christmas Concert. :(
It was fun however, getting Cait all dolled up and then seeing how beautiful she looked.  I really hope they had fun and I am glad they got to spend some time together.

The Feast of Fools! And my predicament.

David started a little tradition with our family a few years back. The day or weekend after Thanksgiving we decorate our tree and eat a ridiculous amount of junk food.  We call it that because who eats a bunch of junk food right after the biggest food holiday of the year? Only fools do, thats who. We also have a tradition of getting a new ornament every year that represents one big thing that happened that year. This year our whole lives CHANGED, and changed quickly. With the surprise baby coming, moving far away from family and friends, the only thing we could think of is that life was so different. So we collected a small bag of CHANGE with 8 significant coins coins in it. There is a coin for each of our birth years, the year we got married, the year we bought our home in Tooele and the year we moved. It just so happens that 8 is also the number of years we lived in our first home.

This pic cracks me up. He just found the Pickle. Why do we hang a pickle on the tree? Well because Santa leaves an extra present for the kid that finds the pickle. The kids love this little strange tradition and he was so excited to find it and hang it on the tree.

As far as my predicament goes, I have been put on semi-bedrest. I started having contractions during this pregnancy a lot sooner than with the others. The doctor always just told me that if I had more than 4 or 5 in an hour to go see him. On more then one occasion I have had several contractions in an hour, but on Monday afternoon they started and wouldn't stop. Nine or more in an hour for four hours. I went to the hospital and they gave me a terrible shot to make the contractions stop. I am also already dilated to a one. Which normally isn't a bad thing, but to also have contractions and pressure down below makes for a very bad thing. So, I am stuck at home, doing nothing but sitting. I can't stand for more then a couple of minutes and I can't do any lifting or bending. I am only 26 weeks, almost 27, which is wayyyyyy to early to be having a baby. Chances of survival are okay but it is survival with a lot of complications. If I can just hold him in for at least 3 more weeks there is less of a chance of long term complications. However, 6 more weeks would be even better, and heck for that matter 10 or 12 weeks is better than that.
So here I sit and catch up on the blog, because what else am I going to do? If you are in the area come visit, give me a call, or send me ideas of books, tv shows and movies that you just can't live without so that I can survive being bored.
