What A Weekend....

I wish that I could say that it was an exciting weekend, but it was filled with tears and a few moments of pure joy.
Saturday was Grandpa's funeral. I usually don't handle viewings very well, but I did alright at Grandpa's. I think it was because I was all cried out from weeks before and I had to deal with a baby so I didn't have time to cry. The services were beautiful. My aunts, uncle and mother-in-law all spoke and shared spiritual and memorable experiences. All were wonderful and brought to life a man I only knew for 7 years. At the beginning, all 19 grandchildren sang I Need Thee Every Hour, and at the end sang Love At Home. How awesome it was to see all 19 grandchildren together. Not one missed it. Then cousins Heather, Kristy and Erin sang His Hands which always makes me cry, but I sobbed this time. And at the cemetery, grandpa received full military honors for his service in WWII. I love military honors. Caitlin even had a touching experience at the burial. Grandpa Young said he saw her staring at the casket, then she looked away for a moment, then looked at the casket again with a tear on her cheek. When we were getting ready to go, Cait and I went to the casket to say goodbye and we each blew him a kiss. She really has a tender spirit. The whole funeral was a really neat experience and it was good to be together with such an amazing family. I am truly blessed to be a part of this family.
Aren't those flowers gorgeous? That is Grandma Boss in the background. Her name is Lola and is the fourth wife of Grandpa. His other 3 wifes died of various diseases before him. I love Lola she is a really great, happy woman.
Meet the Der's. Okay just my David and David Spencer (the weird dude in front with the baby) are the Der's. But in stead of saying cheese I told them to say Der and they all ended up with a funny face.

We then drove for 3 more hours to get to Gunnison for a baby blessing and a farewell. My nephew Boston was blessed by my bro Craig, and my cousin Justin gave his farewell talk in church.
First it was Justin. We drove some more to get to Richfield to see him almost pass out and throw up on the stand. I kind of wish that he had so that I would have a better story. But he didn't he just turned green, said Amen and sat down. It was really kind of funny. He is going to some mission in Mexico that I can't remember the name of and he enters the Provo MTC on Wednesday. Oh how they grow. This is Justin. I don't know how old he is in this picture, but his little brother Zach was about 1 so he is somewhere between 6 and 9. I think????

Then we drove some more to get back to Axtell to the baby blessing. Craig gave Boston a sweet blessing with all the family there to be a part of it. I wish I had a picture of the baby, but I didn't have my camera with me.

So that was my weekend in a nut shell. In a 24 hours period we drove a total of 9 1/2 hours. I know that it is possible to do more, but I never want to do that again.
