(forgive the collage, I wasn't being patient with Photoshop)
I was going to post about boring things like, going to Temple Square and going fishing with David and meeting a huge dog named Tiger. But then something funny and disgusting happened today. I was outside watching Dawson shoot some hoops. David came out and quickly got bored just watching. So he grabbed the ball and slam dunked it. Now a little back ground on the back board. When we moved into this house there was an old rickety backboard and hoop. A couple of years later the wind blew the back board clear off. So we found one at the DI and replaced it. The new one is huge and really too big for the pole it was on. Much to David's disadvantage, when he made the slam dunk today, not only did the ball come down, so did the hoop and backboard. At first I thought it had completely missed him because he just stood there for a second with a curious look on his face, but then he grabbed his head and dropped to his knees. A hook for the net hit him right in the head as it came down. I ran to him, took one look, about puked and then grabbed a rag. I pleaded with him to go get stitches. He kept saying no, it would just make a really cool scar no big deal. But I think he started to worry because he wanted me to call a nurse in the ward to ask her opinion before we went to the Dr.'s office.
I won however, so we were off to the Dr.'s. We even made a deal while we were waiting. If he didn't need stitches, I would have to come home, clean the mess up in the kitchen that making grape juice caused and fold the laundry that was stacking in the bedroom. And vice versa if he needed the stitches. Well, the Dr. took my side and told him he would defiantly be needing stitches and at least 10 of them. I just sat back in the chair and laughed and laughed. By the time the Dr. was done 45 minutes later, David had 20+ stitches and a scar shaped like an M.
We found the ordeal really hilarious. Daddy trying to show up his kid totally backfired. Hopefully, he doesn't have a headache all weekend?
PS. Temple Square, fishing and the big dog named Tiger were fun!

Nice. Poor Dave seems like stitches are going around :(
Too bad it wasn't shaped like a Y, now that would be a cool scar!!
It doesn't look like an M!! It's more like a W!!!!
Ouch!
Ouchie! Good thing you went in! Did they offer to glue it?
Rock on Dave you can be Harry Potter for Halloween, no costume needed!
Youch. Did you really make him clean the kitchen and fold laundry with that gash in his head???? LOL!
I guess our husband's receeding hairlines come in handy sometimes. It looks like it gave the Dr. a clean place to conduct the stitches! Sorry David ;)
