The Good, The Sad, The Interesting!

The Good:
Cora and Cait started dance yesterday. Cora was so excited, but by the end of the hour she wanted nothing to do with it. I couldn't figure out why until when we got home she was asleep in her car seat. Poor thing was just too tired to move anymore.
She was so vain too. She just stared at herself in the mirrors the whole time. Every once in a while she would actually do what she was told, but not very often. I asked Miss Pamela if she was a total pain in the butt, and she said "nope, she was a normal three year old." Few, I was worried I had just spent $20 on shoes she wouldn't be wearing.
Cait loved being back in dance. She was ready to go as soon as she got home from school, and asked every 10 minutes if it was time to go. She jumped right back into the swing of things once there too. I am excited for this year cause they are getting a little more technical in their steps instead of just teaching them a dance. Yea!
I only got a pic of Cora because it was her first day, Cait's done it before.

The Sad:
Popcorn died yesterday. She was our canary that we have only had since Christmas. She was chirping at me yesterday morning, so I fed her (she was a little pushy when it came to her food, she wanted it when she wanted it). Then I noticed her at about 2:30 sleeping on her perch. Then around 5 David found her dead. We loved her so much and she was really fun to watch and listen too. Rest in Peace Popcorn.
I took this pic on Christmas day when we got her. Can you tell why we called her Popcorn?

The Interesting:
I had jury duty this morning. Never done it before and I can't say that I have done it now. The judge and attorney's were about 20 minutes late getting in the court room and when they did come in the judge said it had taken them so long because they had worked out a deal so we were excused. I was excited to be apart of the judicial system, but am glad that I am home because David was not so pleased about having to do all my errands today, with getting sleep and all, he was going to have a rough day.

Now just for a little funny note. The other day Dawson was apparently starving and I was busy. So he started telling me I had 100 seconds until he died. Well about 10 seconds later he tells me I have 13 seconds until he dies and he continues counting down from thirteen. When he got to one, he collapsed on the floor. I just continued doing what I was doing just ignoring him. So he came in again and did the same thing. I think he died 3 times before I finally had time to get him a snack.

Learning Corner Art

I have been looking for a cute alphabet banner or picture to hang in my learning corner, well while during my search this morning I came across alphabet photo's. Loved the idea, hated the price. So I thought, I have a camera and I am sure I can find the alphabet around my house. This is what I came up with.

I Love it, I just need to find a new A.

Learning Corner.

From the time we moved in this house, David has been asking for a learning room. Plush chairs, tables, and a library full of books. He wants somewhere that our kiddo's can do their homework and study. His dream. Not possible in our small house. But there is a corner in our kitchen that gets used for nothing but junk. Then I saw this article in This Old House magazine that started my brain working for that corner. I didn't need the giant calendar, although that would be cool, but I thought the kids would love a place on the wall that is completely okay to draw on. So I wasted no time this week and got started. So far the walls are painted, the chalkboard is painted, and the desk is in there, but there is still lots I want to do. Like, find a chair that actually fits at the desk, an ABC banner, a book sleeve, a frame for the chalkboard and maybe even a rug. But finding those things are a little harder to find than I thought it would. Oh well, I will be patient and find what I want instead of giving in to just anything.
Cora was home and very willing to model the new learning corner.

OUI!

I'm tired. This early school stuff is harder than it looks. Up at 6:30, to school with one set of kids by 8 and then the next set at 9. And it's really hard for me to do when I waste time on the computer thinking I've got a while and that while quickly shrinks. Then I end up screaming at kids to get ready in a hurry. Oh it is so much smoother when I ignore the computer in the morning. But starting the day off screaming just makes for the rest of the day to be one big ball of emotions and screaming. And to top off the school fiasco for the day, the carpool lady for the day forgot it was her turn so she was about 40 minutes late getting Buddy home. I was really starting to worry. And getting irritated when I found out she forgot because ... I was in a hurry to go to Costco! That's me yelling! I felt like screaming at her too. So all in all it was a very exhausting day of yelling at everyone. Oh well, I got a cute chair from my grandma, a hot pair of CK pants for me, cute monkey jammies for Miss Belle and played round up with a hula hoop in the backyard with the kiddo's. At least the day ended on a good note right?
Belle's in her cute monkey jammies being a cute monkey!

First Day of EA!

My kiddo's were so cute this morning in their little uniforms. I am sure that the blue, white and yellow will get old, but for today they were cute. They were so excited last night. Cait to the point of not sleeping. I will guarantee you that when she gets home she will complain about being tired. Poor thing. Anyway, super cute and they seem to have great teachers. I am just glad I don't have to be the pickup mom. Cait is still not home and last I heard Bugs was #500 so there was no getting home anytime soon.

I was hungry!

So have you ever been to this little diner in Green River, Wyoming? If not you so should go. I'ts name is Penny's Diner. I had a huge craving for their great food last night around 9:30 so I decided to make the 3 and 1/2 hour drive to get a burger. When I got there I thought, I'm awake enough I'll make the 3 and 1/2 hour drive home no problem. It was great, you wouldn't regret a trip out there! SYKE! I did not drive out there for food, I didn't even eat once we got there. My poor soon to be brother in law was coming home from picking up his son from Kansas and his car broke down in Green River. So, being the good sister that I am, road with my sister out there to pick him up. We dropped my kids off at the Mother in laws and then headed that direction. The drive there wasn't so bad, the drive back, I slept most of the way and had my caffeine high sister drive back. Surprisingly sleeping from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. I am not feeling too tired. Ask me again around 1 or 2 and I won't answer cuz I am sure I will be sleeping. :)

What a week

I have had a crappy/good week. It all started Monday on a good note. The kiddo's and I went to the zoo with some good friends and had a blast. I really love days at the zoo that are cool and
very few people. Who ever thought to go to the zoo as a Mid -summer time activity is NUTS! So much more fun when it's cool outside. Oh and the kids were great too.
Before the zoo was swimming lessons. This is Cora the way she looks the entire time. She can't help herself she always has to be bobbing up and down in the water. She's part fish.

My Favorite picture of the whole day.
Up there above Dawson's head is the King Vulture. The only animal Dawson asked to see that day.
Tuesday was one of those crappy/good days. It started out with a phone call that our stove would be here in 30-40 minutes. Great, except my kitchen and laundry room are a mess. So I started to clean and BAM! There goes my back. And it was only about 5 minutes later that the stove showed up, not 30!
Oh well I will never see the hot Polynesian that delivered my stove again so he can make fun of my messy kitchen all he wants. I love my stove in case you were wondering. It is beautiful and has five burners and a griddle! I LOVE IT!
This is a perfect example of what I did all week. Dang Back!
Wednesday, I made a trip to the chiropractor. Ow! It hurt but helped at the same time. He said it wasn't really my spine that was out it was my muscles spasming. So he signed me up for a visit the next day including a massage. Yea! That was a first for me and it was great, until I went to stand up and then it hurt worse than it did when I went it. The doc said it was just making my muscles spasm again and it did calm back down and not hurt so bad.
Thursday, after my apt and Cait's piano lesson's which she is doing great at by the way, we went to Kaysville to get my nieces for a sleepover. Five little girls is a handful! They had so much fun but man they are needy. I want this, can I have that, but I want what she has! It was a blast though. We watched Princess and the Frog and went to bed late.
Friday, swimming with the girlies! Great fun and Miss Cait swam the width of the swimming pool all by her self. David was glowing with pride and Cait was exhausted. She was rewarded with a Wimsy Pet and took a really good nap. I had a blast playing with Cora. She is such a fish and was under the water more than she was above the surface. We would both go under and she thought it was great she could see me through the goggles. She even giggled under water which was funny. Poor Buddy was mad though, he stayed in Kaysville and didn't get to go swimming, so we are going to have to go this week again. I'm not complaining.
Saturday, I was not about to stick around home trying to keep quiet on a Saturday, so the kids and I went shopping and playing yesterday. We needed to find some school shoes. No luck at the Gateway. Every shoe Cait liked was not in her size. Very frustrating. But they had fun playing in the fountain, so that works. We also went to Liberty Park and played in the water there.
We weren't there for long cause we needed to get a move on, but it was fun. We did finally find shoes at Target, but we had to go clear to Centerville to do that. We came home with swollen feet and very hungry! Pizza solved the hunger problem and kicking my feet up solved the other problem.
Crazy Kiddo's
The only picture I got of all three of them playing in the fountain and the water was off for the moment!
I actually pulled this picture from a video I took on accident. I didn't realize my camera was on video, so I Googled how to get a still shot from a video. So easy and there you go!
And I was so excited. I won another blog give away. I won a Scrabble Tile pendant :). Okay it's a little bigger than a Scrabble tile but still it made me smile!
So it wasn't a horrible week. We had fun and had life issues so I can't complain too much.
